John H. White won a Pulitzer: You Never Know Who... →
On April 2, 2010 I was walking down Michigan Ave. in front of the Apple Store. At the storefront sat a woman in a folding chair and a man across the sidewalk shooting a photo or two. Turns out that the woman wanted to be the first to buy an iPad upon its April 3rd release. Turns out the man with the camera was John H. White, Pulitzer prize winning photojournalist with the Sun Times.
I happened...

CNN BRK on Twitter-Now Really CNN, Now Boring! →
So a whie back I posted the news that CNN Brk on Twitter was disovered to not be CNN at all. Since then, CNN acquired the Twitter account and tweets news roughly twice per day. There’s gotta be more news than that?

i’m glad this “hipster” thing is dying down. at least in its current incarnation, which is a total fucking joke. it used to mean counter-culture, and it has largely become anything but that this time around.
don’t worry. it will reappear anew in the first half of every decade as a reaction to the previous 5 years, as it has done since the 1950’s....

The Relativity Of Clean
The image above is from Kile Galliart and I think it’s funny. However, dirty people aren’t so funny. Over the last few weeks of Swine Flu news, the one thing that you might have heard often, and even from President Obama, was “Wash your hands.” This is one of those things that I assumed the masses have heard before, starting from when they were children. Somehow it...

The Horrors! Listen to the Preview of "Primary...
Great music blog, Drowned In Sound, posted this today and I couldn’t be happier. The new music is rather “shoe gazer” and less theatrical and frantic, and quite different than the first self titled album. Read the review at Drowned In Sound here!

Talk Like Shakespeare Day in Chicago (4/23/09) →
Chicago’s Mayor Daley proclaimed that today is Talk Like Shakespeare Day. This is a collaborative “effort” with the Chicago Shakespeare Theater and if you click on the link above (title), you can get tips on how to talk like Shakespeare. But I can’t even type like Shakespeare, so here’s a little cartoon from a great blog called The Rut.

CNN Brk on Twitter Is NOT CNN →
You never know what you’ll learn from someone else’s Tweet. Today I learned from Jean Luc’s Tweet that the CNN I’ve been following on Twitter wasn’t CNN at all. It was listed as “CNN Breaking News”, but we’re reminded once again that the anonymity of the web can breed all sorts of misleading information, falsifications of identity, and so on. The...
Australian news story: "Rock Stars That Need To... →
I almost agree, but there is also such a thing as a rock “legend”. So maybe they don’t need to retire, we just don’t need to go to the concerts? If Foreigner can play Vegas, Leonard Cohen is more than welcome to come to Chicago. And taken out of context, most musicians look ridiculous!
